Beneath The Skin

you flatter me with nothing
always take away something
you are like cold winter rain
striking my warm body like
hot stinging pain
but you are my dread
my everlasting sorrow
you left me bleeding so many times
begging for a tomorrow
striking me down
I took every blow
the madness sinking in
like a match to gas
exploding within
you try to caress me with lies
stroke me with fear
leaving me silent
bitter with tears
but the creature in me
yearns to stand tall
and yet i fall
and yet i fall
a small feather of life
fluttering no more

Death Of A Rose

she longs to be free
to dance with the wind
to hear it call her name
but life has drained her soul
broken spirit
lost in the snow
a rose in winter
forever in bloom
but so quickly to fade
in the spring rain
muddied stream
washing tattered petals away
now she has found her freedom
with the slice of a watery blade

Shorn Love

There was no sacrifice so deep
that i wouldn't keep
to bleed at your side
but you left me here dying
my soul torn apart
all the words so sweet
were lies from the start
you were my church
I worshiped everyday
was that the cause
this sense of loss
as i dance in the wind
tossed on stone
shattered bone
laying crippled
coming undone
the battle for a love
that was so simply tossed
love something set it free
but will it ever come back
to me

to dance within
his shadows
he is the mist that
covers the veil
he is a dark tune
that is
familiar to me
my angry sea
quiet storm
his body
his lips
his flesh
speak blasphemy
to see him clearly
is to see the umbra
of the moon
bright gloom
that walks softly
the master of my
fate
bringer of my
sweet
soliloquy
bring my world to
crash down
around me
leave me as
dust in the wind
to dance around your
soul happily
this is my wish
