decaying

my wounds
lay splaying
crimson ocean
of life
seeping from my veins
and all I do is
laugh
laugh
laugh
death has come
to collect her lost daughter
caress her head to mothers womb
Born again through her eyes
set free to fly across
the cumbersome moon
tears of joy
rain down on bitter earth
as night blooms quench their thirst
in the joy of life

The Burning
she was the last of the seven wonders
they tore her down like everything else
her crime was never committed
but they shackled her in chains
they called her final sin
they tied her to stake
for mistakes someone else made
set the witch on fire
for caring was her only desire
herbs and brews to set things right
were her last goodnight
she spat on their names
they said this witch is to blame
as the fire mounted
now the good town is haunted

we sit together
but we are worlds apart
we trick ourselves
with smiling eyes
but never dare to
reach into each others souls
we have reaped
what we have sown
the fields are bare
the earth is lifeless
the dust is unsettled
each time we walk by
tears cannot bring back
what was grown here
we are ghost here
in this house
nothing left but a
cool breeze
a broken caress
on each others skin
a flutter of butterfly wings
as we blow each other a kiss
and into the wind as
we take our separate ways
is a simple word
